01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Perched on the 3th floor of a commercial building in Nerima, Music Bar Smile lets patrons choose their favorite tracks from a shared tablet, shaping the room's soundtrack while they drink. Passing the tablet between neighboring seats naturally sparks conversations about familiar melodies and shared musical tastes, fostering a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

The drink menu covers generous ground, featuring rotating craft beers on draft alongside draft Kirin Ichiban Shibori, as well as casual beer cocktails like Red Eyes with tomato juice and Shandy Gaffs with ginger ale. The whisky lineup ranges from everyday standbys such as Black Nikka Clear, Kakubin, and Jack Daniel's to peated Scotches like Ardbeg and Laphroaig, plus Japanese labels including Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Hibiki. Servings can be ordered neat, on the rocks, with cold water (mizuwari), with hot water (oyuwari), or as highballs with soda.

For a drink with a local spin, guests can opt for original cocktails such as the vibrant Nerima Night Red Raspberry, the Nerima Morning Blue Mix, or the Nerima Night & Morning Set, which comes paired with mini chocolates. Light fare includes a 3-item platter combining mixed nuts, cheese, and chocolate, alongside edamame, popcorn, yakisoba, and pasta dishes, making it easy to settle in for an evening of music and conversation.
